We really liked the location, vibe of the hotel, ease of getting checked in and out, and the room was nice and clean. We drove so pulled up in the alley way next to the hotel and they allowed us 15 minutes to check in and drop things off before we parked. The person there was very friendly. Loved that there was a Dohm sound machine as that’s what I use at home and it was a pleasant surprise. The shower was very powerful which was fantastic! Body wash, shampoo, and container in the showers. I never use those but did this time. They exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was very good with many options. The hotel was very clean and safe. All the staff that I encountered was very friendly. I enjoyed having the lights from the buildings in the evening. I loved my view from my bed. So appreciative that our view wasn’t a brick wall. We have had many brick wall views in the past.

I loved the location to everything downtown. My husband and I did not rent a car and we were able to get to just about everything that we had planned to do within a 20 minute walk. Navy Pier. 360 Chicago and the Starbucks Reserve to name a few are very close by. The staff was very friendly at check-in. We had an issue with our room being way too hot and they quickly let us know that the AC unit had recently gone out but that they had someone working to restore it. While we did spend two nights hot and sweaty, we enjoyed the stay overall. Breakfast was also very delicious and more upscale than your "traditional" hotel breakfast buffet. We loved our house keeper Estefany. Marisol and Jose at the front desk were also our favorites at the front desk. They were both very welcoming and attentive.

The room is spacious, with living room. The bed is comfortable and the white noise machine is a great addition, there are two fire departments close by and the large window (which is a huge plus) doesn't keep the noise out always. Loved the large window in the room. TV is a good size. Bathroom is a good size and house keeping was great and timely. The breakfast was good, what you would expect from a hotel breakfast - eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, bagels, fruit, yogurt, potatoes, etc. The location is perfect, we walked around even in the dead of winter. 25 minutes to Millennium park, 5-10 minutes to Magnificent Mile, very short walking distance to great Italian restaurants, etc.

It would be really difficult to find a hotel with a better location in River North than Hyatt Place. Less than a five minute walk to all the great shops on the Magnificent Mile but far enough away to avoid most of the congestion. The free continentals breakfast in the morning is also a boon considering how expensive Chicago can be.

The hotel itself was great. The staff were amazing! Very helpful and courteous. Parking was pricey, but as far as we understand it was cheaper than a lot of other options, and it was valet parking. The location was great, within walking distance of a lot of things, and close to bus lines and subways, which were very helpful.
